60 Years In Showbusiness

Leonard Brown recognises a special milestone for Ian Lees as he completes his 60th YEAR IN ENTERTAINMENT and is pictured here being presented with his award from leonard. Starting as a teenager in 2 choirs, Ian sang in Craigiebank Church and Rockwell FP Choir. He furthered his singing career singing solo in various churches.

A move into concert and cabaret work led to:

• A mini tour of France
• Appearances on Grampian, the BBC and French T.V.
• Cabaret in London.
• Performing variety in various theatres including the Palace in Dundee and twice at Edinburgh’s Playhouse (thanks to Sandy Wilkie).
• Many happy years with Downfield musical society.
• Several summer seasons at Whitehall Theatre.
• Twice on Radio 2 Ballroom.
• An introduction to voiceover and narration work (thank you Paul Smith of Apex productions).
• Over 30 years with Breath of Scotland Show.
• 32 years with Radio Tay.
• Nearly 30 years with hospital radio and currently on 17 community and hospital radio stations each week as a volunteer presenter.
• Recent narration of the DVD “A Toast To Scotland” produced by Leonard Brown.

…and the musical journey continues.
